Set in the quartier Zaouia Abbassia neighbourhood, one of the oldest in the medina, the Riad Dar Zampa is located roght next to Bab el Khemis.
Close to the souks and the craftsmen area, the location of the riad makes it very easy to get both to the boisterous square Jemaâ el-Fna as well as the marvelous garden of the painter Majorelle.
Although Riad Dar Zampa was entirely rebuilt in 2008, it has kept its original structure and architecture. It is set up in a lovely little house at the end of a labyrinth of lanes and offers three rooms and two suites, all of them combining modern comfort and traditional refinement.
The rooms individualized decoration reflecting the hosts’s passion, each one being named after a bird.
Once you’ve passed the door of the riad, when you entered the patio endowed with a splendid zellige fountain (terra cotta tilework covered with enamel cut into geometrical shapes), you find yourself into another world, unsuspected from the animated street.
Upstairs, the sun plays on the colonnades and the wrought iron of the gallery. But there’s nothing like the terrace to fully enjoy the sun rays. It is so pleasant to warm oneself up there in winter and to admire the snow-capped summits of the Atlas. In summer, at sunset, that’s where you will get back to some coolness.
The three bedrooms and two suites all named after birds open onto the patio. Each one has its own WC and a private tadelakt (traditional lime plaster) bathroom. All of them are equipped of cooling and heating air conditioning for the guests greatest comfort.
The riad can welcome up to 11 people.
All our rooms are no smoking.
During your stay Isabelle and Omar will be pleased to welcome you and share with you their knowledge of the “Red City” and of the country.
